Query Citation

The image below shows the dockable window that allows you to query features in a given data set for citation information.

The user must first select the appropriate layer to query citations from (see no. 5 in the image below). This list may be empty if none of the loaded layers in ArcMap have citation links (i.e. if there are no recorded Ref IDs for a feature).

It is possible to copy the list of citations for further use in an application of your choice or to print them out.

List of Functionality

Query Inspector Overview
  1. This is a scrollable pane that will allow you to inspect the citation information against the selected feature.
  2. Each feature in the Object ID list can be revisited by clicking on the Object ID number – the feature will flash and the relevant citation will be displayed.
  3. The Copy button will copy all citations to the clipboard and you may then paste them into an appropriate application, e.g. Microsoft Word.
  4. The Clear button will clear all citations currently referenced.
  5. Before you can query for citations, you must select the appropriate layer you want to query from.
  6. You may toggle the tools query mode on and off using this button.
